We went from no one ever really massively debating the atomic bomb in world war 2
Vietnam took 20 years before it really broke down
Afghanistan / Iraq took maybe 5-6 years to break down
Ukraine took a year or so
Israel / Palestine took maybe 6 months
Communism led the US to emphasizing the nuclear family instead of communal raising and that was damaging for kids. But we had a dominant, shared narrative.
