Bookstore Economics

I got my undergraduate degree in accounting, and one of the the only classes I enjoyed was managerial accounting. “Understanding the books” of a business and how things get built, not just the mind-numbing experience of audit or taxes. Anytime I walk into a bookstore, I can feel an intense fascination with getting into their books (and not the ones one the shelf.) What are they spending? What’s the turnover on their shelves? What’s their foot traffic like?
